Old Tappan Men's Softball League (OTMSL) - Game Cancellation Notification

In years past the OTMSL has notified teams of weather-related cancellations by phone. First the calls went out from the League Office to all the coaches, then the calls from the coaches to their players. This method meant that some people might actually find out about the cancellation 20-30 minutes after the game has been cancelled, sometimes more. This was especially difficult during the Spring League in which players travel from all areas and must leave their homes very early. Even in the Fall League, one-time OT residents may currently reside in other areas.

The phone-tag method will no longer be implemented in the OTMSL. Now, on days of questionable playing weather, game cancellations will be posted by 7:45 a.m. on the morning of Game Day a the OTMSL Message Board.

COACHES: You will NOT receive a call from League Officials.
PLAYERS: Do NOT expect a call from your Coach.

This way, everyone will find out at the same time and coaches will not have to make 30 minutes worth of phone calls on a rainy Sunday morning! Also, feel free to join the "friendly banter" on the Old Tappan Men's Softball League Message Board. Trash-talk all you want, but remember to back it up come Sunday!
